Inspirational Comics: Soul Eater

If I've learned anything about storytelling over the years, I've learned that one of the most important thing a storyteller can do is grab the reader's interest right at the beginning, and never let go. This is what the author of SOUL EATER managed to do to me. The world the story takes place in is totally unique, with an evil Sun and Moon that hover in the sky which occasionally attempt to screw the characters over. The characters are simply loveable, with unique personalities that are almost impossible to dislike. The story is intriguing, the action scenes are well thought out, and then there's the artstyle. Ah yes the art style, the aspect that probably caught my attention in the first place. For lack of a better word and patience to come up with one, I'll just describe it as incredible. Check it out if you ever get the chance. But just be warned, it can be a bit, err... eechi.

Inspirational Comics: Naruto

So... Naruto is probably my favorite manga of all time. Not because it's popular, not because it's over 500 chapters long, and not because it has a fan base that can almost compare to something like star wars. But rather because it's so... good. The series has it all, great characters, an epic story, funny humor, an admirable art style, and a plot that actually manages to keep you guessing what just might happen next. I adore Naruto, not simply because it's a well put together tale, but also because it's one of the series that inspired me to sit down and write my own story.

Inspirational Comics: Foxtrot

Foxtrot

I love foxtrot comics because they're just so... awesome. I grew up reading them as a kid, and fell in love with the Fox family right away, because they were so relate-able. They're your average run of the mill American family with everyday problems, but rather than make them dramatic, Bill Amend is able to make just about any situation really funny. I mean, when does watching 10 year old Jason stick his iguana Quincy in his sister's underwear drawer ever get old??

What's up? My name is Chris, and this is my blog...

Hey everyone,
So here's my blog about my college life. About how it feels to be a minority on a campus that kind of lacks diversity. Let me start off by saying that there will be no slamming of any races anywhere on this blog, because truth be told, I love people too much for that. Nope, instead my hope is to simply speak my mind through a series of comic strips, poems, and some short vids. Hope you all enjoy. And oh yeah, this blog is also being used for a class project. Yea for classes :P
